The research and writing of a biographical sketch of a Key Individual in any subject area is an excellent tool to use to help students gain an historical perspective and thus a better understanding of that subject. This session will focus on the answers to two questions: (1) Why should I or my students do a biographical sketch? and (2) How do I or my students go about researching and writing a biographical sketch? Examples of students' work will be shown, and practical steps and guidelines will be shared.
